Buying a drum set can be a stressful ordeal, especially if you don’t know what components are needed.

I’m going to breakdown that barrier, to show you the different cost effective options and comparisons.

I went to a well known chain music store to see what drum options were available. The first thing I looked at were cymbals. Now, one cymbal alone can cost a pretty penny.  Most drum sets do not come with cymbals, or stands. Those components alone can be costly.

Speaking of drum sets, the varying prices can get pretty expensive! Now, it can be justified as you become a more advanced player. But if you’re a beginner, it’s not practical to spend a lot of money on a professional drum kit.

I did see some great options though.

Acoustic Drums

The Ludwig Backbeat Elite, which is a 5 piece that includes a bass drum, 2 tom toms, snare drum, a floor tom, two cymbal stands, a hi hat stand, hi hat cymbals, a crash cymbal, ride cymbal, and a bass drum pedal.  Can you imagine trying to figure out what’s needed to put together an entire drum set? Luckily, this is all included in the Ludwig Backbeat Elite package.

I found more drum packages like this, and some which are cheaper. I’ll leave you with some links below.

Now, maybe you don’t want to deal with the noise, or maybe you live in an apartment and you have noise restrictions…..Well, here’s an option that I think is perfect !

Electronic Drums

Electronic drums have come a long way in the last 30 years. They are fantastic, because they can be used with headphones in order to reduce noise, they sound like real drums, they are easy to stow away when not in use.....and they are very a great option in terms of affordability.

Below are links to all of your drum options:
