I developed Jamtooners as a simplified method for kids to learn drumming, breaking away from traditional music notation to use words, phrases, syllables, and visuals. By replacing numbers and notes with nursery rhymes and assigning characters like Boomer, Tapper, Popper, Tom Tom, and Crasher to each drum sound, learning became more intuitive and engaging. Through rhythmic patterns of nursery rhymes, students easily grasped drumming basics while remaining enthralled. This approach, accompanied by animated cartoon characters serving as instructors, aims to make drumming accessible and enjoyable for kids, especially visual learners like myself.
